Unlimited SEO is an SEO company in Illinois (Chicago area). Welcome to our FAQ
page. If you have any other questions please email
us.
Do you offer a guarantee for top search
engine positions?
No, the best SEO companies do not guarantee top search engine
placement, because it is the search engines that control rankings.
Only ten web pages can be on page one in Google. So - SEO firms that offer guaranteed SEO may be using techniques
known as "spam." To reach top search engine positions,
one spam method may be creating doorway pages to the website.
If a single doorway page obtains a high ranking, the SEO company
has satisfied the agreement, even if the high ranking disappears
weeks later.
Google lists over 180 million pages
for our main keyword. How can our site get close to the top?!
If you do a one word search, then an enormous number of web pages
will be listed. But most potential customers don't search for
one word. Rather, they type in a key phrase (two or more words)
to find products or services on the search engines. If you get a bit more specific,
you can really stand out. We will get you there.
What process do you use to identify which key
phrases to incorporate into the website?
We brainstorm with our clients to come up with a list of key phrases. Then
we rank them according to user popularity. We test these out on
various search engines to determine the levels of competition
for each one. If the search term is too vague, it will a)
make a top ranking almost impossible and b) bring in non-targeted
visitors. We want to target those that are neither too broad,
nor so specific that they are rarely searched for. Key phrases
are the building block of any search engine marketing strategy and we spend quite a bit of time on keyword research.
What content updates, if any, will need to be
made to current pages?
When SEO companies optimize a website, they make adjustments
to the website's actual pages. (They should not be putting up
new URL's.) Our alterations may include subtly adding key
phrases to the URL, title, metatags and/or body text. We also
take into consideration keyword density and location, page length,
headlines and link text.
Adjust my pages?! I'm afraid that might wreck my website.
Search engine optimization (when done correctly) does not damage
a website. It can and should actually produce a better site for Google and for users.
Do you submit websites?
No. There is no need to submit a site to the search engines for
natural results. We do, however, submit, or register, sites for
paid inclusion and pay per click programs.
We're already in Yahoo. Can SEO companies succeed
in expanding listings to additional categories, or changing categories?
Yahoo has a directory, and a search engine. In directories, the
editors decide where your site will be placed, and you are limited
to the number of categories in which you may appear. We have had
success in requesting changes to Yahoo listings. When that doesn't
work, we have paid to re-submit the site.
Is there a contract?
Yes - Unlimited SEO will deliver a comprehensive proposal for your site's
project, which clearly explains the services offered, why they
are essential, terms of service, and cost for the duration of
the assignment. Termination options are also covered.
Who will make the changes to my website?
If you host the site, we will email you the HTML edits for you
to code. Otherwise, you can either forward them to your website
hosting company or we can deal with them directly.
We have Flash on our site. How do
the search engines look at Flash? Is it harmful?
If you truly want to optimize your website- do not make it completely
in Flash, and leave out the Flash intro. Most search engines cannot
comprehend Flash, so they do not see the links in it. If a web page
is entirely Flash, then it has no copy, and nothing for the search
engine to establish its search engine position on. The search engines
neither look at Flash nor delve into it like they would an HTML
page.
Why does your website say "SEO is a process not a project"?
Nobody can know for sure how the search engines will evolve. You must add content frequently, and acquire links in order to rank highly over time.
